Domino to Demonstrate Full Product to Pallet Coding Solutions at TOTAL Exhibition
Friday 23. April 2010 - Underscoring its ability to fulfil the varied and demanding product identification requirements of manufacturers, Domino UK Ltd (stand no. 5615) will display an impressive showcase of complete product to pallet coding solutions at this years Total Exhibition. Dominos product line up will be spearheaded by its new V400 high-speed, multi-lane thermal transfer printer (TTO) for flexible packaging applications, as well as the G-Series of thermal ink jet (TIJ) printers, which offer manufacturers new benefits in primary and secondary applications.
As the latest addition to its V-Series range, Dominos V400 traversing thermal transfer printer has been designed for easy installation onto thermoforming and tray sealing machines and fulfils wide-area print requirements on intermittent, multi-lane applications. Available in both 2″ (53mm) and 5″ (128mm) printheads, the versatile V400 offers clean, durable and low maintenance thermal transfer overprinting, making it particularly ideal for food printing applications.
Delivering a print resolution of 300dpi, the V400 is capable of applying sharp, high quality variable data including text, bar codes, Data Matrix codes as well as logos – all of which it achieves while optimising production output, thanks to a high speed of 800 mm/sec. Easy to install on existing packaging machines using a range of adjustable brackets, the V400 also features Domino’s patented ribbon economy system, which enables manufacturers to save up to 60% on ribbon usage without reducing print resolution.
Alongside the V400, Dominos G-Series offers a broader use and application of TIJ products in specific market areas, especially within the pharmaceutical sector. Importantly, the G-Series delivers improved quality and high speed printing onto an expanding and diverse array of substrates, thanks to impressive 600 dpi resolution and speeds of up to 300m/min. Dominos multi-substrate, fast-drying ink expands the range of compatible print materials and application possibilities, while the ability to print onto porous and non-porous materials sets the G-Series apart from other TIJ solutions, which are typically restricted to slower-drying, water-based options.
The combination of attributes delivered by the G-Series affords specific advantages to those manufacturers seeking to print 2D bar codes and other machine readable formats in order to fulfil track and trace requirements. In addition, via its intelligent printhead, the G-Series aids manufacturers in the fight against counterfeiting, thanks to the ability to employ strategies such as mass serialization and unique numbering.
Domino will also use the Total Exhibition to demonstrate its best-selling A-Series range of continuous ink jet (CIJ) printers. The recently enhanced A-Series plus Duo offers even greater benefits to manufacturers in Dominos mainstream CIJ markets, such as the food and beverage sectors, as it meets industry needs for improved print performance and additional lines of data beyond standard date/batch codes. This is achieved by printing double the amount of lines at the same speed, without compromising production line speeds or throughput levels.
As well as firmly making its mark at the Total Exhibition, Dominos pioneering variable data printing expertise will be much in evidence a stones throw away at IPEX, which takes place at the NEC from 18th- 25th May. Underscoring its ability to provide a wide range of commercial printing technologies to converting and label sectors, Domino will signal its entry into the full-colour digital printing market as it unveils its new N-Series piezo ink jet range. In addition, Dominos new K600 single colour piezo ink jet system, which delivers high resolution VDP ink jet at full width, will also receive its global premier at IPEX.
