Flexible entry point for continuous feed productivity and substrate versatility

Monday 22. March 2010 - New Océ VarioStream 7120 flash-fusing printer

Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery, today announces general availability of the Océ VarioStreamâ 7120 system, an entry-level, monochrome simplex continuous feed solution. The system addresses corporate and commercial environments with low to mid-range volumes of transaction, direct mail, product-flanking and special media applications. With the Océ VarioStream 7120 system, Océ builds on its years of leadership in continuous feed printing and brings greater production performance and substrate versatility to the market.

Bringing Océ productivity and performance to users
Running at 114-ppm A4 2-up simplex or 121-ppm letter-size 2-up simplex, customers gain outstanding productivity and rugged performance for black & white simplex printing. Proven Océ reliability and quality make the Océ VarioStream 7120 system a future-proof production printer that is easy to operate and maintain. Smart, time-saving features such as automatic paper loading considerably shorten and simplify set-up time. Automatic resolution detection and switching further reduce operator involvement. The positive impact this has on productivity makes the Océ VarioStream 7120 system ideally suited for short-run printing and quick-change jobs.

No-contact fusing expands media versatility
In addition to standard paper, the non-contact flash fusing technology lets customers also process a wide range of special media applications, such as adhesive labels, thin plastic cards, foils and lightweight forms. The no-contact flash fusing bonds the toner without heat transfer or exerting pressure, putting less strain on the paper and keeping it in immaculate condition for finishing. No rollers or other moving parts deflect the paper from its straight pass through. Users can process special media that cannot withstand paper path deflections or the heat and pressure of normal fusing. As a result, customers have the flexibility to take on a wide portfolio of print jobs.

Excellent print quality for professional-grade applications
The LED image generator delivers excellent output up to 600 dpi quality for professional-grade text, graphics and barcodes, and fulfils the tough legibility standards for security applications. The fine detail of the print image is faultlessly preserved, so print quality is flawless on every application. Whether general transactional applications like invoices and account statements or applications on special media like labels and plastic cards, the Océ VarioStream 7120 system handles them all equally well adhering to the highest quality standards.

Powerful Océ controller with intuitive user guidance
Based on the proven Océ VarioStream family concept, the Océ VarioStream 7120 engine is equipped with powerful SRA 4 controller technology. Customers can seamlessly operate the Océ VarioStream 7120 system side by side with other Océ continuous feed printers. It can be used as a proofing device and as a backup for other Océ VarioStream systems. The state-of-the-art graphical user interface provides easy, intuitive operation, resulting in availability and efficiency with minimal set-up times and considerably increased overall productivity. Thanks to its simplicity and the online help, operators quickly become familiar and productive.

Faster Océ VarioStream 7160 system available in Q2
In addition to the new Océ VarioStream 7120 system, a higher speed version will be available second quarter 2010. Running at 150 A4 ppm (159 ppm letter) two-up, the Océ VarioStream 7160 system will extend the speed choices within the Océ VarioStream product line. This monochrome printer will benefit customers needing the productivity and flexibility of the 7120 model, but also requiring faster speeds for their applications.
