Staples, Inc. Announces Nine Percent Increase in Quarterly Cash Dividend

Thursday 11. March 2010 - Staples, Inc. (Nasdaq: SPLS) announced today that its Board of Directors has declared a quarterly cash dividend on Staples, Inc. common stock of $0.09 per share, an increase of nine percent over the previous quarterly cash dividend of $0.0825 per share.

On an annualized basis, the quarterly dividend is equal to $0.36 per share from the $0.33 per share that the Company paid in 2009. The dividend is payable on April 15, 2010, to shareholders of record on March 26, 2010.
