INTEGRATION OF COLOR MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS IN ENFOCUS SWITCH NOW MADE EASY WITH GMG FLOWCONNECT
Thursday 25. February 2010 - GMG FlowConnect, Enfocus Switch and GMG ColorServer perfectly fit together and due to networked and automated color management workflows, there is an increase in productivity and production reliability.
GMG, developer and supplier of high-end color management and proofing solutions, is pleased to announce the availability of its latest software solution GMG FlowConnect in combination with Enfocus Switch. GMG FlowConnect offers the possibility of centrally operating and controlling the GMG color management products GMG ColorServer and GMG InkOptimizer 4.6 in the production workflow. The GMG FlowConnect technology serves as the basis for various future workflow solutions. The first workflow has now been implemented using Enfocus Switch.
Increasing automation in the graphic arts industry is leading to growing demand for networked, centrally controllable color management. It should be possible to check every step of the process at any time, even if systems of different manufacturers are in use. By networking color management workflows, companies can easily enhance the productivity and production reliability.
GMG FlowConnect is the link between the color management solutions GMG ColorServer and GMG InkOptimizer and the workflow system Enfocus Switch, enabling a complete integration. The Switch Configurator is based on the new GMG FlowConnect technology, which enables job ticket-controlled, automatic and flexible handling of jobs. GMG FlowConnect with Switch is extremely easy to install, as the Switch Configurator can be started with a single click, then collects all the necessary information on its own and listing the available templates and MX4 profiles. Afterwards, the status of all jobs can be tracked completely in Switch. Once installed, the GMG color management runs fully automatically in the background. “GMG FlowConnect makes my Switch workflows more transparent and streamlined. I can now supervise and control the whole workflow in Switch, which guarantees a higher efficiency,” says Wolfgang Spiegel, Technical Manager at Peter Becker GmbH. As only one single hot folder is needed for all jobs, the amount of administration within the workflow and risk of error are reduced substantially.
Additionally, GMG FlowConnect permits load balancing across several GMG color management systems, thus ensuring optimum capacity utilization and guaranteeing that all jobs are processed in the event of one system failing.
