Graphispag 2011 will mark the turning point in the recovery of the Spanish graphics sector

With the aim of contributing to the recovery of the graphics sector, the International Graphics Industry and Communication Show, Graphispag, is preparing its next edition which will be held from the 22nd to 26th of March in Fira de Barcelonas Gran Via exhibition centre. The show hopes to be a key factor in reactivating investment by graphics companies, bringing together a wide range of equipment, processes and substrates and creating a setting for debate on trends and opportunities for opening up new markets.
All the latest machinery and accessories for the different printing systems and for finishing and converting, as well as the latest digital graphics technology, and a variety of materials, substrates and consumables will be showcased at the eleventh Graphispag, organised by Fira de Barcelona in collaboration with the Graphispack Association.
According to the president of the Organising Committee, Miquel Heredia, “although the current economic situation is a deterrent to investments, graphics companies project their vision on a medium and long term”. Graphispag will be held in 2011, a year in which all indications point to the start of recovery and, for this reason, Heredia considers that “it will be the ideal moment to see and touch what is happening in the world of graphics and for companies to recover from the crisis and face the future by investing in innovation and technology”.
Graphispag, which will have been a benchmark event in Spain and Portugal for 45 years, is one of the four most important graphic arts shows in Europe and also attracts international buyers mainly from the Mediterranean area and Latin America.
Held every four years, the show has massive support from company associations and professional groups linked to graphic arts and other related businesses. Many of these organisations collaborate in the sector events that Graphispag will organise during 2010 in various Spanish cities, in which suppliers, company owners, graphic arts professionals and representatives of associations will be participating. With these encounters, which are an excellent source of information on the needs of graphics companies and the concerns of the sector, Graphispag aims to offer appropriate responses.
For a few days, Graphispag will become one of the Spanish leading graphics schools, since it will host over 20 educational events on graphics applications and technology, trends, new markets and business opportunities. The show will also reconfirm its commitment to bringing graphic design and industry closer together, with specific activities for designers, and will provide the setting for the presentation of the “Marco de Oro” Awards for screen printing, pad printing and digital printing and the Líderpack 2010 Awards for packing, packaging and POPA.
