SMG Groep Upgrades Its Digital Colour Capabilities with an HP Indigo press 5500

Tuesday 16. February 2010 - HP announced today that SMG Groep, Hasselt, The Netherlands, has installed a six-colour HP Indigo press 5500 with Thick Substrate option at its Zwolle facility.

In 2001, SMG Group initiated digital printing with a four-colour HP Indigo press 3050. The company used this new capability to move short run jobs from offset to digital, but later developed the use of the digital press for versioning and personalisation. Since 2006, personalisation has become a more frequent and important demand from customers.
