LFP - Large-Format-Printing
EFI brings its leading global technologies to Dubai Sign and Graphic Imaging 2010
Thursday 21. January 2010 - Deliver quality and productivity and enable new applications
To emphasise its continuing global leadership in the wide-format ink-jet market, EFI is returning to Sign and Graphic 2010 in Dubai (25-27 January 2010) with popular examples of its latest technologies. This will be the company’s twelfth attendance at this event where it will feature machines from the VUTEk and Rastek families as well as comprehensive software options designed to simplify digital output.
New additions to the EFI VUTEk UV-curable portfolio in 2009 included enhanced 3.2 m solutions and the company’s superwide 5 m printer, both of which benefit from the latest UV-curable ink technologies and fine dot capabilities. Both are designed to incorporate fast speeds with high quality and are intended for print service providers and display producers who are dependent on reliability and consistent standards. For entry-level users and lower volume requirements, the EFI Rastek series represents an ergonomically constructed hybrid solution which is modestly priced.
Following the success of its QS models, which attracted users world-wide wanting cost-effective flat-bed and roll-fed printing solutions, EFI VUTEk introduced the GS range which offers photo-realistic quality and a maximum resolution of 1000 dpi. Being demonstrated in Dubai is the GS3200 which features a heavy-duty unwind unit to assist with unattended printing of flexible media. Speed isn’t compromised on the GS series, with speeds of up to 223 square m/hour complemented by continuous board printing capabilities and the ability to output to rigid and flexible materials. The eight-colour UV-curable ink-set can be enhanced with the addition of white, which can be used within the work-flow to produce highly innovative results and, for high speeds, with the company’s proprietary Fast-5 option.
For excellent productivity at greater widths, EFI VUTEk’s GS5000r is the company’s superwide-format printer which utilises UV-curable inks and outputs at speeds of up to 288 sq m/hour with Fast4. Its eight-colour mode is complemented by the ability to print up to three rolls simultaneously thus making this a versatile option for multiple and single applications. EFI introduced this machine following the success of its original 5 m solution that pioneered the ability to print giant graphics, such as building wraps, vehicle liveries, bill-boards and theatre back-drops on a single piece of material.
The EFI Rastek H650 has leading print quality and print speed within its segment. It is a very affordably priced UV-curable printer which features a vacuum belt to enable both flexible and rigid materials to be handled. Users who need quality output from a printer with a small foot-print will also benefit from its white ink option and its high standards of output of up to 1200 x 900 dpi. Despite its low investment cost, this machine features greyscale print-heads and a maximum print speed of 21.3 square m/hour.
Sign and Graphic Imaging 2010 will also see EFI demonstrate its established software options for producers of digital print, including the latest version of Fiery XF colour management and RIP which can be configured to optimise and drive third-party printers as well as VUTEk, Rastek and EFI Jetrion ink-jet label production solutions. The company will also feature its related products including sophisticated networking options for mixed environments, plus profiling, proofing and professional print packages which comply with the latest standards such as Fogra.
All these products are representative of EFI’s global approach to providing a comprehensive range of solutions for display producers and print service providers. The company also offers full technical support and maintenance contracts to its customers world-wide.
