Kodak Announces First North American Installation of New KODAK NEXPRESS SE3600 Press to Cohber Press
Wednesday 16. December 2009 - Cohber Press, a full-service printing and marketing communications company in Rochester, N.Y., is the first customer in North America to install the new KODAK NEXPRESS SE3600 Digital Production Color Press. The NEXPRESS SE3600 Press delivers unmatched productivity and image quality and enables improved business profitability and growth.
“Digital printing is one of our fastest growing services, and the new NEXPRESS SE3600 Press will enable us to offer improved quality for innovative new applications,” said Eric Webber, President and CEO of Cohber Press. “To grow our business and increase our bottom line, we are always looking for ways to increase efficiencies and with the help of the SE3600; we will continue to deliver outstanding results for our clients. The response to our output is tremendous.”
Specializing in operations from direct-to-plate printing to full service marketing solutions, Cohber Press brings their customers award-winning marketing solutions that exceed customers evolving needs.
Cohber Press purchase of the NEXPRESS SE3600 Press further enables the company to increase volume – in both static and variable data print – while managing expenses. “With more jobs coming in, we needed additional capacity. The SE3600 allows us to print at higher speeds, and we now have four machines that require fewer than two people to run simultaneously,” added Webber.
Built upon the proven reputation of the family of KODAK NEXPRESS Products, the NEXPRESS SE3600 Press delivers exceptional color quality, performance, and reliability for applications such as direct mail, marketing collateral, catalogs, photo books and more. It is the only sheetfed digital production color press to offer unconstrained performance of 3600 A3+ sheets per hour, or 120 pages per minute.
The NEXPRESS SE3600 Press features the new KODAK NEXPRESS Intelligent Calibration System (ICS), which automates the process of checking and maintaining print uniformity. The system uses a KODAK i1220 ICS Scanner to capture and analyze color output and feed critical data back to the system for closed-loop color calibration. In addition, KODAK NEXPRESS Enhanced Dry Ink and KODAK NEXPRESS Developer represent a unique formulation of ink and developer that improves image quality by delivering offset-class smooth flat tints, and print consistency across jobs and over time.
The press is driven by the KODAK NEXPRESS System Software version 11, the first front end in the market with ADOBE PDF Print Engine 2.0 for higher productivity and seamless workflow integration. From compatibility with the latest PDF standards to seamless integration when implementing variable data printing (VDP) capabilities, the NEXPRESS System Software version 11 improves file processing significantly.
The KODAK NEXPRESS SE Digital Production Platform also offers the award-winning KODAK NEXPRESS Fifth Imaging Unit Solutions, allowing users to add a variety of unique features inline during the printing process. For the SE3600 Press, Kodaks Fifth Imaging Unit Solutions offer clear coating, watermarking, glossing, protection coating, and color gamut expansion.
“The NEXPRESS SE3600 Press represents the latest in Kodak innovation for commercial, photo and in-plant printers. Delivering superior offset-class output, this new digital color press is a game-changing solution that outpaces the competition,” said Chris Payne, Director and Vice President, Business-to-Business Marketing, Kodak. “Kodaks NEXPRESS SE Platform enables print service providers to maximize productivity, expand revenue opportunities with higher value applications, and increase return on marketing investment.”
