RICOH COMPLETES INTEGRATION OF INFOTEC

Monday 07. December 2009 - Ricoh UK has today announced it has officially completed the integration of the Infotec business and brand into the parent company.  The integration marks the final step of a process set in motion by Ricoh’s acquisition of Infotec (formerly Danka Europe) in January 2007 and consolidates the vast expertise of the two companies, confirming Ricoh as an innovative world leader in digital production printing.

Says David Mills, CEO, Ricoh UK: “The completion of this integration means Ricoh now has one of the strongest and broadest printing portfolios in the professional production marketplace – from light-production machines right up to the company’s Pro professional printing range of high-volume digital printing solutions, such as the  company’s flagship 90ppm Pro C900 and the scanner version, Pro C900S.”

Ricoh’s acquisition of former Ricoh re-seller, Infotec, in 2007 was a key milestone in a round of high-profile acquisitions – that included Hitachi Printing Solutions in 2004 and IKON Office solutions in 2008 – all of which has secured Ricoh a position as an industry leader in the development and supply of high-volume professional printing solutions.

The successful integration has eliminated any duplication of operational, administrative or sales functions across Ricoh and Infotec which Mills says will ultimately lead to a more competitive proposition for its customers. Current Infotec customers will experience no change to the established channels of communication regarding sales, service and supplies as all current Infotec account managers remain in place to ensure seamless continuity of service. The newly enlarged company will also continue to supply and support the Kodak Digimaster and NexPress machines as well as a range of bespoke software solutions for document management.

“Harmonising the back office functions of the two organisations will free up further time for us to focus on the frontline needs and requirements of customers,” says Mills. “As such, each element of the sales and service process right across the company will be able to work together more closely.  It is a hugely competitive marketplace and our customers need us to be responsive and flexible in our approach to service and support if they are to gain a competitive edge. With the harmonising of our back office functions and the continuity of the customer-facing account teams, I believe we have achieved this.

“This integration is all about offering a comprehensive range of products supported by a consistent commitment to outstanding service so we can continue to help our customers add greater value to their businesses. I’m confident Ricoh is now in an excellent position to take advantage of the challenges the New Year will bring and we look forward to unveiling a range of innovative new products as the year progresses.”
