Océ commended for climate change disclosure

Thursday 26. November 2009 - Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery, today announced that it has been commended by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) for its approach to climate change disclosure. The CDP represents 475 institutional investors with $55 trillion in assets under management.

Océ in Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index
Océ is featured in CDP’s Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI). This index, a key component of CDP’s annual Netherlands 50 Report, highlights the constituent companies within the AEX 25 and AMX 25 Indexes which have displayed the most professional approach to corporate governance in respect of climate change disclosure practices. Companies are scored on their climate change disclosure and high scores indicate good internal data management and understanding of climate change related issues affecting the company.

The CDLI provides an evaluation tool for institutional investors. It comprises the top scoring 10% of companies in the Netherlands 50 based on analysis of the responses to CDP’s 2009 questionnaire which focused on greenhouse gas emissions, emission reduction targets and risks and opportunities associated with climate change.

“Delighted to be among Top 10%,” says Océ CTOO Anton Schaaf
“We are delighted to be among the Top 10% of listed Dutch companies included in the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index,” says Océ Chief Technology and Operating Officer Anton Schaaf. “This honor recognizes the efforts we have undertaken to apply sound, sustainable principles in the development of innovative technologies and products at Océ. Our strategic approach to this issue is simple: we aim to enable our customers to prosper while reducing our environmental footprint.”

The Netherlands 50 Report including names of companies featured in the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index can be found at www.cdproject.net.

“Companies recognized in the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index are rewarded for high quality responses to CDP,” commented Paul Dickinson, Chief Executive of the Carbon Disclosure Project. “Their recognition demonstrates a good understanding of how climate change is and will continue to impact their business. Companies that control their risks today, manage their emissions and seize the opportunities to produce low carbon goods and services, are best placed to prosper in a low carbon economy of the future.”
