Fuji Xerox to Manage Print Environment at Sagawa Express Major Offices Nationwide

Wednesday 25. November 2009 - Managed Print Services Reduce the Delivery Company's TCO by More Than 20% Over Five Years

Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. manages the print environment at major offices across Japan of Sagawa Express Co., Ltd. The five-year outsourcing service agreement calls for Fuji Xerox to help Sagawa Express achieve TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) reduction by more than 20 percent while optimizing the company’s overall print environment.

As a leading delivery company with 38,585 employeesNote 1, Sagawa Express offers community-based services from sales offices all over Japan. By introducing XOS, Fuji Xerox’s Managed Print Services (MPS), Sagawa Express outsources its entire print device management and related operations to Fuji Xerox. Freed from the burdens of device and cost management, Sagawa Express will be able to reduce TCO while taking advantage of an optimum print environment.

To optimize a customer’s print environment, Fuji Xerox conducts an assessment and evaluation of the customer’s direct and indirect costs, processes as well as needs for document printing, and provides a report of any identified issues and print-related TCO. Based on these results, it develops an optimization plan to build a new office print environment. Fuji Xerox also creates guidelines for maintaining the optimal arrangement to strengthen the control of print devices management. By following this plan to install the optimum number of print devices at optimum locations throughout its office environment, Sagawa Express has reduced the number of print devices by more than 30 percent while maintaining its employees’ convenience.

Sagawa Express has been proactively taking a number of environmental initiatives, including its acquisition of about 4,300 low-emission natural gas powered trucks, giving it the largest company-owned fleet in Japan. With the print device reduction, the company is expecting to reduce both power and paper consumption.

Fuji Xerox is bolstering domestic sales of XOS by expanding the target market, and has educated 600 sales representatives who are in charge of approximately 1,000 groups of major enterprises. Further, Fuji Xerox’s all corporate officers, no matter what they are in charge, are involved in sales activities to demonstrate the values and advantages of XOS that helps customers solve their business issues, directly to customers’ top management.
