Introducing CONVEGO – The New Umbrella Brand Name for Payment Solutions from Giesecke & Devrient
Tuesday 17. November 2009 - Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) is consolidating its Payment divisions complete portfolio of products, systems and services under the international umbrella brand name Convego with immediate effect. This transition to a consistent nomenclature will give the company a more coherent market presence. The new Convego product family is being unveiled at the CARTES international trade show in Paris (November 17-19, 2009).
Thanks to its inherent innovative strength and a concomitant high level of growth within the payment sector, Giesecke & Devrient has launched a wide variety of new products and solutions onto the global market in recent years. G&Ds portfolio for the services and systems business sector has likewise developed very positively. Convego, our new umbrella brand, will consolidate all of G&Ds payment activities within a consistent naming system and provide customers with an easy overview of all the product lines associated with G&Ds payment portfolio.
Axel Deininger, Head of G&Ds Payment division, explains: “By introducing Convego, were integrating all our payment products and services into a single, coherent international brand image. We now offer a comprehensive portfolio – from individual payment cards to complete solutions – under one distinct umbrella brand.”
The Convego umbrella brand covers all the product lines in G&Ds payment portfolio. Convego Factors, for example, refers to card bodies in all their various forms, while Convego Air groups together all the products that allow a user to make payments using contactless technology. The Convego System and Convego Service product lines encompass the systems and solutions provided by G&Ds Payment division.
Under Convego System Commerce, G&D for example offers turn-key solutions for the trade and banking sector. Convego System Instant Issuance and Convego System Picture Card in turn enable our customers to undertake individual and decentralized personalization of their payment products. And G&D Online Services refers to services that can be used to optimize internal logistics processes. The Convego brand also encompasses other product lines, and further innovations are likely to be added in the future.
Convego is a name with positive connotations, made up of the prefix con- (with) and the stem vigor (power, vitality). Standing for confidence, convenience and convergence, it fits in seamlessly with G&Ds existing brand values.
G&D is introducing its new umbrella brand with a variety of advertising and marketing activities, including a new range of brochures. In addition, the Group will inform Payment division customers separately about the new umbrella brand. Giesecke & Devrient is a world leader in the provision of products and solutions for electronic payment transactions.
