Thursday 12. November 2009 - With the purchase of a Speedmaster SM 74-5H, Restart Print will make its debut in B2 production. The Tamworth company, which has moved to a new factory, is bowing to demand to move up a format to fulfil the needs of its print broker, design agency and printing company customer base.

With over 50,000 Heidelberg B2 printing units sold worldwide, the Speedmaster SM 74 is a proven product in the B2 arena.

“By bringing B2 work in-house and working to the same high standards we have had with the Speedmaster SM 52-5 we can provide optimum quality at speed. Cutting outsourcing and having overall control of all print we supply will extend the work we do for existing customers and open up new opportunities,” says Deane Merrick, managing director.

The new factory will give sufficient space for the high productivity that will be realised with the Speedmaster SM 74-5 high plie machine and Press Center. The company is also taking Prinect Pre-Press Interface for automatically ink key presetting which will dramatically reduce makeready times and, more importantly, reduced makeready waste. It will be delivered as soon as the premises have been fully prepared.

To feed the new press the company is taking a Suprasetter A75, marking a move from visible light to thermal technology. This will allow it to eliminate conventional processing by using Fuji Pro-T2 plates which are developed on press. This will reduce the amount of electricity used and eliminate waste and chemistry, both green and carbon footprint reducing improvements for the company.

Restart Print has been trading since 1996 and in 2007 Deane Merrick welcomed one of his customers Ralph Taylor into partnership. This gives the company a particularly customer-focused approach to quality, delivery and price. Through its customers some of its print is delivered as far away as the US and Falkland Islands. It handles a wide range of commercial print with an emphasis on promotional materials.

The company is just down the road from the Heidelberg showroom and Restart are regular visitors to this national demonstration facility.
