Introducing the G-Series thermal ink jet printer to Mölnlycke Health Care

Tuesday 20. October 2009 - Mölnlycke Health Care in Oldham produces wound care products for the health sector and has recently invested in upgrading its printing equipment, with the purchase of the all new Domino G-Series thermal ink jet printer; for high-quality, high-speed printing of 1 and 2 D codes, text and graphics on porous and non-porous substrates.

“When we found out about the new thermal ink jet G-Series we immediately wanted to trial it because of the flexibility it offered to print on any substrate type and its apparent ease of use.” explains Lisa Lamble, Logistics and Production Manager. “I have worked for this company for 25 years and the G-Series is the easiest coding system I have ever worked with.”

Mölnlycke Health Care, were already familiar with Domino, as they have already been using an A300 continuous ink jet printer on one of their other production lines for over six years. The A300 is part of the best selling A-Series brand with over 100,000 installations worldwide. Mölnlycke Health Care has undergone considerable expansion in recent years and they manufacture hundreds of different products. Each production line will handle various types of products; all different shapes, sizes and substrates. Mölnlycke supply various different customer orders throughout each shift and each line will handle a different quantity of order(s) during the shift. This can cause a lot of challenges with having to code onto different types of material and with the new thermal ink jet printer this is easier.

Janet Thorpe, Team Leader at the site, adds, “The G-Series thermal ink jet printer is excellent. It has no mess, requires no servicing and no make up. It is very easy to maintain. All our staff were trained quickly and are delighted and very confident in working with it. The G-Series works every day during our shifts and we can easily and quickly change from ethanol ink to a standard cartridge with no down time whatsoever.”

Lisa Lamble continues; “We normally use the G-series to code an expiry date and lot number on the products. We code onto hundreds of different products during each shift. The G-Series works really well on anything it has to code onto.” Lisa adds, “I also really like the way Domino look after their customers. The account manager is very attentive and I have always had a positive experience whenever I deal with Domino and their staff. I would use Domino again and I would definitely have no reservation about recommending Domino to any other company.”
