WorkflowOne Awarded Three Leading Environmental Certifications

Monday 12. October 2009 - FSC, SFI, and PEFC Given to 15 Manufacturing Facilities and Distribution Centers

WorkflowOne, a leading provider of print management, marketing and distribution services, today announced that the company has been awarded multi-site, chain of custody certifications from three leading forest certification organizations: the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) program, and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC). The certifications provide third-party validation of WorkflowOne’s environmental stewardship and sustainable business practices.
“WorkflowOne’s customers can now be assured of an unbroken chain of custody from forest to final use, with options for sourcing and distributing either from our own facilities or credentialed trade partners,” said Ernest Miller, executive vice president of Operations. “With this Dual Network Advantage, WorkflowOne customers gain access to a broad range of services through an extended manufacturing and distribution network, which delivers unparalleled flexibility and great value across their entire print and promotional supply chain.”
All three environmental certifications were awarded to Workflow’s digital and offset print production and distribution facilities in Brenham, Texas; Charlotte, N.C.; Emigsville, Pa.; Coldwater, Ohio; Columbus, Ohio; Goshen, Ind.; Livermore, Calif.; Ontario, Calif.; Salt Lake City, Utah; Timonium, Md.; and Visalia, Calif., as well as the company overall.
WorkflowOne maintains rigorous recycling programs for paper, inks, solvents, plastic, metal and wood. In 2008, the company recycled 27 million pounds of material. Over the past three years, the total amount recycled reached more than 82 million pounds. WorkflowOne’s Livermore, Calif., plant was among local companies praised for energy conservation by the Business Energy Coalition of California. The state of Minnesota Center for Energy and Environment (CEE) listed the company as a “Top Team” for conserving energy and reducing CO2 emissions through the installation of new energy saving lights.
“Part of being a responsible business partner is helping customers achieve their goals for environmental stewardship, sustainability and diversity in purchasing,” Miller said. “With flexible sourcing, minority purchasing programs and outstanding service, we are uniquely prepared to help socially conscious clients manage their print and promotional spend.”
