Printing Industries of America Announces Development of the Digital Production Excellence Accreditation Program
Monday 12. October 2009 - Printing Industries of America's Center for Technology and Research today announces the development of the Digital Production Excellence Accreditation (DPEA) auditing program. The program is designed to determine if a digital printer has implemented and maintained an effective management and control system.
The key issues that the DPEA audit is intended to determine are the current state of business operations, methods and procedures, process performance, and quality control. The program also evaluates whether standard operating procedures and tasks are effectively being completed, and if specified frequencies are being followed in proper equipment calibration and process controls.
According to Dr. Mark Bohan, Vice President, Center for Technology and Research, “Increasing global competition has led to the highest levels of customer expectations with regard to quick turnaround time and high quality expectations. To achieve a true competitive edge, digital printers must not only maximize production performance but also maintain that level. The primary ways printers can achieve and maintain competitiveness are to employ effective marketing management, have a proactive focus on innovation, and utilize efficient production control systems.”
Based on unique criteria, DPEA audits are conducted by highly experienced digital printing experts. The audit criteria include a review of specified documentation, observations of daily practices, and evaluations of key processes, as well as interviews with the company’s management and production staff.
Upon passing the audit, Printing Industries will issue a dated Digital Production Excellence Accreditation Certificate (which includes a letter verifying compliance). The DPEA audit provides customers the assurance that the digital printer has met requirements of a major industry accreditation and is capable of providing consistent digital print quality and services.
