Muller Martinis open architecture integrated workflow demonstrations are definitive crowd-pleasers at Print 09
Monday 12. October 2009 - At Print 09 in Chicago Muller Martini showcases the latest advances in post-press technology, including integrated workflow and digital finishing solutions. Visitors experienced many of the latest productivity advancements and technological achievements available today for printers and binderies.
One particular show-stopper was the versatile Primera E140 Saddle Stitcher that was utilized to demonstrate an all-new open architecture integrated workflow solution based on the workflow system Connex. This software integration collaboration between Muller Martini, SoftSolutions and HIFLEX enables printers and binderies to seamlessly integrate their MIS functions and post-press machines in an open architecture environment utilizing JDF/JMF integrated workflows to optimize efficiencies and eliminate waste. Booth visitors were clearly enthused by the money-saving data and benefits derived from an integrated workflow solution.
Another highly discussed topic at the booth was Muller Martinis SigmaLine, the unique total solution for on-demand digital book production. The SigmaLine networks digital printing and finishing in one unique overall system, enabling fully-automated production in one operation, from the roll to the completed book. During the tradeshow, RR Donnelly and Muller Martini announced an agreement to create the industrys fastest inline ink jet printing and book binding system which utilizes SigmaLine technology.
Muller Martini customers Cloître Imprimeurs (France) and Emirates Printing Press (Dubai) have been singled out for their high level of production process automation with the “2009 CIP4 International Print Production Innovation (CIPPI) Award” at Print 09. The new digital Connex workflow system played a significant part in the nomination of both operations for this coveted award.
