The Washington Post adopts EidosMedia integrated newsroom solution
Friday 02. October 2009 - The US daily will use the Méthode editorial platform to streamline its print and online content management into a single operation.
The Washington Post has selected EidosMedias multiple-media editorial and publishing platform for the production of its print and online editions.
The new Méthode platform will serve an integrated newsroom staff producing all of the Posts print edtions, as well as the washingtonpost.com news site. A key role in the new platform will be played by the Méthode Portal Server, a powerful Web 2.0 content management system that allows a wide range of interactive features, from comments and forums to staff blogs and user-created content to be managed in a single application space.
“The decision to move to Méthode was prompted by a number of considerations,” said Raju Narisetti, Managing Editor, The Washington Post. “We were impressed by the degree of integration between print and online channels and the ease with which content could be shared between them. Also the speed and flexibility with which new products can be designed and rolled out will allow us to respond quickly to future market developments.”
“The Washington Post has chosen an end-to-end Méthode solution that makes the most of the considerable synergies possible with a truly integrated system,” said Jo Ann Froelich, EidosMedia country manager. “The adoption of the new platform, should bring very significant gains in productivity and flexibility.”
