Heidelberg puts finishing into sharp focus
Thursday 01. October 2009 - Commercial printers and specialist trade houses are being invited to attend a High Performance Finishing event at Heidelbergs National Showroom in Tamworth in November.
All companies are welcome to attend on Wednesday 4 November and Thursday 5 November. Each day starts with a breakfast at 8.30am and there will be high performance finishing presentations and a walk through at 10am and 2pm daily.
“Finishing is coming into sharp focus because many printers are realising that this is where there remains scope for reducing costs and improving output and that end of line added value can be a critical sales tool in a tough market,” says Mark Hogan, marketing manager of Heidelberg UK.
Polar cutting systems and materials handling solutions will be on show alongside Stahlfolders, including the latest and most automated KH 82 combination model.
To emphasise the value added that can be created in the finishing department a Flexomailer line will be running with gluing and card-tipping and, a first for Heidelberg in the UK, inline die-cutting.
Stitchmaster saddle-stitchers, including the ST 450 which will be demonstrated integrated into the workflow through Prinect Postpress Manager, will run alongside Eurobind hot melt and PUR binders.
Heidelberg also hopes to show how the economic Varimatrix die-cutter offers commercial printers an added value die-cutting and embossing solution, a significant move on from the Cylinder.
