Atlantic Zeiser Introduces PackageLine

Thursday 01. October 2009 - Marking and coding experts deliver complete system for late stage package personalization, product differentiation and track & trace operations

Atlantic Zeiser, a leading innovator and technology supplier for digital narrow format printing processes, today announced the launch of PackageLine at FACHPACK 09, scheduled for September 29th through October 1st, 2009, in Nuremberg, Germany. PackageLine, a complete solution for digital late stage customization of packages, will be featured in the Atlantic Zeiser stand, Hall 9, Stand 530.

PackageLine, the latest addition to the Atlantic Zeiser product portfolio, is a cost-effective system with a modular design that enables the deployment of optimal turnkey solutions in packaging marking. PackageLine is specifically designed to allow easy integration of Atlantic Zeiser’s market-leading drop on demand (DoD) inkjet printing technologies into standalone transport platforms for late-stage package personalization and track & trace operations based on variable data. It can be used with a variety of packaging processes, including flat packages such as blister packs and cards, and folded or glued packages. In addition, it can mark a wide range of materials and substrates, including cartons, foil, plastics, aluminium and more.

PackageLine is an integrated system manufactured and supported by a single supplier, Atlantic Zeiser. This affordable, entry-level standalone solution for late-stage package customization is easy to set up and easy to use. It is pre-configured with the following standard features:

o standard friction feeder (Company Kraus Maschinenbau)
o vacuum-based transport unit

o transport speed up to 120m/min (394 fpm)
• Atlantic Zeiser controller for process control and monitoring
• High quality Drop-on-Demand Inkjet Printer Module
o OMEGA printer line available in seven alternative versions in print widths up to 210mm (8.27 inches), with resolution up to 720dpi and speeds up to 120 m/min (197 fpm)
o Optimized UV inks from Atlantic Zeiser
o SMARTCURE LED UV curing appropriate for use with even the most heat-sensitive packaging materials

Because each packaging operation has unique, individual requirements, Atlantic Zeiser is also offering a variety of optional features for high-end applications that deliver the ultimate in manufacturing flexibility. These include:

• INKJET TECHNOLOGIES: PackageLine is compatible with all of Atlantic Zeiser’s alternative inkjet marking solutions:
o GAMMA 70 – premium full color inkjet printing module with two production modes in one (wet-on-wet and pinning) printing at resolutions of up to 360 dpi at 24 m/min (79 fpm) with a print width of 70.5 mm (2.8 inches)
o DELTA 105 UV: this new high speed grayscale printing module offers high resolution up to 600 dpi printing in widths of 105 mm (4.1 inches) at speeds of up to 120 m/min (492 fpm)
o BRAILLEJET for digital Braille font printing with BRAILLEVISION camera system

• The TRANSPORT SYSTEM can be upgraded to meet more complex needs with capabilities that include:
o High end friction feeder (supplied by the feeding experts from Kraus Maschinenbau in Germany) offering:
