Axel Springer Russia starts Russian FORBES news portal

Monday 21. September 2009 - Axel Springer Russia, the Russian wholly owned subsidiary of Axel Springer AG, is launching a news portal in Russia this year called FORBES ONLINE.

Ralph Buechi, President of Axel Springer International: “We will use the strong position of FORBES in the Russian media market for further expansion of our digital activity. With the launch of FORBES ONLINE, we enlarge our FORBES Russia trademark with one comprehensive online offer, which will expand to the leading business portal in Russia.”

Content on FORBES ONLINE will mainly include news and backgrounds in the areas of business, economics, finance, technology and lifestyle, in addition to the lists and ratings that are very popular in Russia. A variety of multimedia content, including video and slide shows, will also be an ongoing part of the new news portal.

The concept and first impressions of FORBES ONLINE will be presented to Russian advertisers and agencies in the next few days in Moscow by Regina von Flemming, CEO of Axel Springer Russia.

FORBES is the leading Russian business magazine with an average circulation of 110,000 copies and more than 810,000 readers monthly. At the beginning of September 2009, FORBES WOMAN magazine appeared for the first time, directed at successful Russian business women. At the end of 2008, the association between Axel Springer and FORBES, originally established in 2004, was prolonged until 2020.
