EFI Makes Anytime, Anywhere Scheduling Control Possible with Launch of PrintFlow Web

Wednesday 16. September 2009 - EFI (Nasdaq: EFII), a world leader in customer-focused digital printing innovation, today launched a new component of its revolutionary EFI PrintFlow dynamic scheduling solution, EFI PrintFlow Web, bringing visibility and control to customers from any Internet connection. On display in booth 2500 at Print 09 (through Sept. 16th at McCormick Place), EFI PrintFlow Web is available as a component of the EFI Monarch and EFI Pace print MIS solutions, representing a key piece of printing intelligence within both of these workflows.

“PrintFlow has redefined the impact potential of the scheduling process for the printing industry, and the new PrintFlow Web enhances this capability with a rich, user-friendly communications, reporting, and analysis environment – available from any local or remote desktop,” said Udi Arieli, director of product management, EFI. “The features of PrintFlow Web leverage the latest in Web technology to give users the ability to quickly locate, review, analyze and act. Now, when the real-world delivers an unexpected workload or resource problem, users can respond whether they’re sitting at their desk, in the lobby of a hotel, or at home – delivering business intelligence where and when it is needed.”

EFI PrintFlow dynamic scheduling streamlines operations, improves capacity utilization and throughput, and eliminates unnecessary overtime by seamlessly linking the planning, production and data collection processes. EFI PrintFlow Web takes this capability to the next level by allowing full-featured access from virtually anywhere, making it an essential element in any lights-out operational strategy.

David Baldree, workflow manager at Progress Printing, said:”PrintFlow is an amazing tool. It takes the scheduling board off the wall and delivers information to the people who need it, when they need it. PrintFlow Web will expand this accessibility even further, giving production and sales managers access when they’re away from their desk or away from the office. This is really a powerful and cool software that allows you to stay connected and in the loop at all times.”

PrintFlow Web offers an easy to navigate user interface with clear presentation of critical job, date and equipment information. Cascading data trees present and hide information quickly, while one-click default views and a “find” control panel provides fast, efficient, pinpoint access. The live Gantt chart gives a global view of the schedule with nimble controls for zooming, panning, and moving through time and equipment. New high-end technical features include: in-column filters that eliminate awkward dialog boxes; dynamic tables that pull data as you scroll, eliminating those annoying Web-based ‘next-page’ links; a tabbed interface that supports multiple views with quick back-and-forth switching; and interactive charting for visualizing data quickly in bar or pie charts.
