Mitsubishi Diamond Color Navigator Wins Prestigious InterTech Technology Award
Monday 14. September 2009 - When Mitsubishi's Diamond Color Navigator was introduced at Drupa in Düsseldorf, Germany, in May 2008, exposition goers were amazed when color adjustments on the Diamond V3000LX demonstration press were made without as much as a single touch of the ink key buttons on the press console. An operator simply made a few finger points on two touch screen monitors that make up the Diamond Color Navigator user interface.
The judges in this year’s InterTech Technology Awards program cited Diamond Color Navigator’s allowing for more efficient use of the press by all the operators and drive down production costs through shorter makeready times and effective control.
Current users of Diamond Color Navigator have seen firsthand the technology’s time savings, accuracy improvements and contributions to customer satisfaction.
“We looked at other press technology, and we felt Diamond Color Navigator was significantly advanced,” said Alan Guttridge, owner of Coastal Printing, Inc. in Sarasota, Fla. “Diamond Color Navigator enables operators to bring the science of light and color physics into the pressroom and apply that science to real-world color situations. You can make specific color adjustments with a higher degree of certainty than with any other color system on press.”
“Diamond Color Navigator has made our press crews quicker and more efficient during press makereadies,” observed Pete Mikos, manager of print operations at Northwest Mailing Service in Chicago. “The amount of time it takes the pressmen to make the necessary adjustments is about half the time that it was before we installed Diamond Color Navigator. There has been a corresponding drop in the number of pulls that are needed to get to the final okay. As a result, we experience less paper waste.”
The InterTech stars will be presented on September 13 during the 2009 Printing Industries of America Premier Print and InterTech Awards Gala, held in Chicago in conjunction with Print ’09.
At Print ’09, Mitsubishi Lithographic Presses will demonstrate Diamond Color Navigator connected to a six-color Diamond V3000LX wide stock range press in booth #1146 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.
