BBH Focuses on Industry Needs at PRINT 09
Friday 11. September 2009 - Promotes Postage Savings, Transpromo and Lowest Cost-per-Piece Solutions
BÖWE BELL + HOWELL (BBH) today announced its product and solutions lineup for PRINT 09, booth #7735. The years largest print industry trade show will be held at McCormick Place, Chicago, Sept. 11 through Sept. 16.
“More than ever, businesses are looking to run more profitably while effectively positioning for the future,” said George Marton, BBH chief executive officer. “In this difficult market, highly efficient and reliable solutions are what visitors to our booth will see demonstrated. Were also taking the opportunity to unveil some exciting new solutions that deliver cost savings today and provide the flexibility to adapt to inevitable changes tomorrow.”
One new product introduction is the high-speed BBH MAILStream Inveloper, which processes at speeds of up to 30,000 mailpieces per hour but eliminates the constraints of envelopes, their costs and associated handling. A green and “lean” process, “inveloping” also eliminates the waste inherent with traditional envelopes. The process supports the application of highly personalized, high-impact transpromotional messaging that improves response rates.
Other solutions in the BBH booth enable mailers to maximize postal discounts and ensure compliance with USPS regulations, including the Intelligent Mail barcode and Move Update requirements. “Postage costs can account for up to 70 percent of total mail production costs,” added Marton. “Products such as our NetSort sorting software platform, coupled with advanced vision capabilities provided by JETVision reading technology, ensure the quality and integrity of the mailpiece, as well as compliance with postal requirements.”
BBH will demonstrate systems for service bureaus as well as for large in-house mailers such as utilities, insurance and financial institutions, and government agencies. In addition, BBH Services will promote its monitoring and reliability-centered maintenance services, multi-vendor (OEM) solutions, disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities, factory-certified reconditioned products, and technical support. Software and vision solutions that ensure integrity and compliance with Intelligent Mail barcode, Move Update and other regulatory requirements are also highlighted in the BBH booth.
Following are brief descriptions of the products and services being demonstrated in booth #7735.
TurboPremium
Exciting new enhancements to the Turbo will be introduced at the show.
Combo14
The Combo14 inserting system has been upgraded to process envelopes at rated speeds of up to 14,000 cycles per hour for #10 letters and 6″ x 9″, and up to 9,000 cycles per hour for flats. Its rapid changeover from flats to letters – in minutes, rather than hours – makes the Combo14 system the foremost inserter for flexible, high-speed applications. Exclusive technology dramatically reduces the number of steps required to change over from one size envelope to another. Additional enhancements enable easy setup for integrity or quality checks virtually anywhere on a document.
Pinnacle VIP inserter
Mailers seeking a low-cost, reliable, flexible inserting system can see the enhanced Pinnacle VIP inserter. The Pinnacle VIP, a gripper-arm system, handles letters, 6″ x 9″ and stretch. No other inserting technology can manage the application range that the gripper arm does, from standard inserts to marketing magnets, multiple input and matching processing, and connectivity to upstream and downstream processes. The industry-proven Pinnacle VIP is easily installed, operated and maintained, providing reliable solutions and a low cost of ownership, all key elements of profitability during tough economic times.
Plastic Card System
Selective intelligent card matching (credit, debit, loyalty and gift card) to pre-printed 11″ X 17″ transpromotional carriers at up to 9,000 cards per hour with “Just-in-Time Activation.”
BBH 150
A robust inserting system designed for the 7/24 direct-mail environment where Standard Mail makes up the bulk of the applications, and is capable of producing up to 16,000 letters and 10,000 flats envelopes per hour. The BBH 150 is built on an in-line process that reduces stoppages, increases uptime and simplifies overall operation.
MAILStream Inveloper
Designed for high-speed First Class mail applications, and combines envelope manufacturing and mailpiece assembly into a single, more efficient process at speeds of up to 30,000 mailpieces per hour. The MAILStream Inveloper allows mailers to achieve a new level of efficiency, utilizing a highly flexible platform that will grow with advancements in digital print and transpromotional marketing.
JETVision
BBH will unveil another innovative and cost-effective solution for quality control, providing greater assurances that mailings meet corporate, industry and privacy regulations. The new Content Verification Module provides the ability to count and validate the number of pages and inserts in a closed envelope using the JETVision advanced vision system.
Content Verification can handle dynamic or fixed-page counts, including the addition of targeted marketing inserts. Pages can be folded or flat, and enclosed within a wide variety of wrappers, including traditional envelopes, pressure-sealed envelopes, paper-wrap and many others.
