Eson Pac AB to print Pharma DDS cartons
Monday 07. September 2009 - Stora Enso has accredited Eson Pac, Sweden, to print and produce Pharma DDS cartons for the Scandinavian market.
Eson Pac will produce printed and converted blanks of the Pharma DDS carton. The company has modern and flexible ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001-certified production sites with several effective printing presses and such finishing techniques as Braille and various special varnishings. Eson Pac is the first accredited Pharma DDS printer in the Nordic countries.
“We are pleased to announce our agreement with Stora Enso and to introduce the Pharma DDS to our customers. Having such a new packaging solution as part of our offering strengthens our position as a provider of complete packaging solutions and secures the development, production and supply to customers in the Scandinavian market,” says Niklas Bengtsson, Sales- and Marketing Manager at Eson Pac AB.
The Pharma DDS is one of the packaging solutions developed by Stora Enso, which focus on improving compliance and patient adherence. Pharma DDS is targeted for both prescription drugs and over-the-counter products, and it meets the stringent US and European child-resistance demands. The carton is convenient and discreet to use, yet it has reached the highest F=1 child-resistance testing result. It has a unique locking mechanism and can be produced in a variety of sizes and versions, which makes it suitable for a wide range of unit dose packaging. Thanks to the effective production technique, a competitive cost level can be achieved for both small and high volume drugs.
“The agreement with Eson Pac makes Pharma DDS a viable packaging option for pharmaceutical companies in Scandinavia and strengthens our global network of partners providing Pharma DDS printing, converting and contract packaging services,” says Marcus Dehlin, Product and Sales Manager at Stora Enso.
