DTI User Groups Unite for Benefit of DTI Customers
Tuesday 01. September 2009 - DTIConnect Conference 2009 builds an informational bridge to join groups and hold virtual conference
Digital Technology International’s (DTITM) two user-groups, DTUG and InPUT, have combined forces to become more effective and efficient. DTIConnect, the newly-formed group, will hold its first conference this year, September 15 and 16.
Innovation and industry trends are an integral part of DTI and its customers, so DTIConnect Conference 2009 will be virtual–allowing every customer to attend in the face of restrictive travel budgets.
The objectives of the new group include: sharing and exchanging information pertaining to the use of DTI systems, and providing a channel of communications between users and DTI. As a user-group, DTIConnect will also focus on best practices, new ideas and industry needs.
“In a day and age where efficiencies are a must, the new combined users group makes sense as does a virtual conference that will save time, money and resources,” said Beth Courrau, applications support manager, The Gazette. “As always, DTI will be there to support a successful conference by providing the appropriate support staff for the conference and helping users get more out of their systems.”
As two members from both DTUG and InPUT, the DTIConnect transformational team has been working long hours to bring together a strong conference, while also creating the new group.
“We will have a new board of directors, two people from each of the old groups,” said Janet Woods, chief information officer, St. Petersburg Times. “We believe we have taken the best organizational approaches from each group to form a strong new group that, as its name implies, will foster user and vendor connections that help us all survive and thrive.”
As anticipated, Don Oldham, chief executive officer, DTI, will begin the conference with a keynote speech for all attendees.
“The new, combined DTIConnect user community reflects a strengthening of the relationship that DTI has with the users of its software,” said Carl Davaz, deputy managing editor, The Register-Guard. “Our continued collaboration will focus on valuable solutions the industry needs to move forward with innovation and productivity.”
“We’re planning to offer a good variety of sessions on new enhancements, problem-solving, best practices, and money-saving ideas for all of the different types of DTI software,” said Leslie Rietfors, systems specialist, Swift Communications. “I think most companies are looking for ways to efficiently use the resources they have, and to learn new ways to generate some revenue.”
“This year, in today’s economy, a virtual conference makes perfect sense,” said Steve Nilan, vice president, marketing, DTI. “We expect to have greater international participation which will lead to a global exchange of information and ideas. Knowing we can accomplish this in an online environment is exciting.”
