WoodWing Software, a leading developer of cross-media content publishing solutions for newspapers, magazines and books as well as for corporate publishers, has released version 6.3 of Content Station.

Content Station is the next-generation publishing tool for content producers. It provides the user with one central environment, offering everything needed to both produce and publish high-quality content for print and online channels. Story planning, research and content production are all conducted from within Content Station. In addition, the publishing of content is just a single mouse-click away. Print-ready PDFs can be generated on the fly, and Content Station allows users to publish to the Web, mobile, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and any other online channel without leaving the application.

Content Station 6.3 manages any file type
Content Station 6.3 offers several new features, taking the integration with the customers software environment one step further. Users can simply double-click on files of any type in Content Station to directly open them in their source application. After editing and closing the files, they will be checked in again in Content Station. This feature allows users to make Content Station their primary tool for research and production of content. This functionality will be used heavily for Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Apple Keynote and video files, among others.

Content Station is equipped with a new Quick Look feature that allows the user to preview files in a pop-up window when pressing the spacebar – a quick and convenient method to evaluate images and videos. Other enhancements include:

– Improved screen layout and numerous other user interface improvements
– Publication overview enhancements
– Automatic installation of application updates
– Extended video support

Erik Schut, President of WoodWing Software, says: “The starting point of any publishing process is just an idea, finally resulting in content being published, either to print, mobile or online. This whole creative process is covered by Content Station. And because of Content Station´s ability to work efficiently with files of any type, users never have to leave their familiar working environment anymore. Based on our philosophy of keeping things as simple as possible, the application continues to be very intuitive and user-friendly.”

Content Station 6.3 is available in an Adobe AIR version as well as a Flash-based Web version supporting the major Web browsers for Mac and PC. Content Station is a component of WoodWing’s Enterprise content publishing platform.
