The successful binder for the short-run book and catalog market now offers PUR
Thursday 13. August 2009 - For over 14 years Muller Martini has offered the robust AmigoPlus Perfect binder. Designed for one person operation utilizing menu-guided controls to simplify make-ready and supervision, the 1,500 c/hr AmigoPlus produces a quality book equal to that of a product from a high-end binder.
The newly enhanced AmigoPUR Perfect Binder now supports PUR processing for both spine and side in a single integrated applicator head. This is a key benefit as PUR becomes increasing popular in the short-run book market. This now allows book manufacturers who produce smaller runs to offer a high-quality, durable book to customers.
The AmigoPUR also separates itself from the competition with a second spine preparation station. The improved spine quality allows the AmigoPUR to produce superb books with very high pull strength values while still having a high degree of spine flexibility.
The ergonomic design built into all next generation Muller Martini machines is carried through to the AmigoPUR. It has an easily accessible touch screen panel and the hand-feed station is at a convenient height for loading product. The new Vertical Book Delivery is essential to producing the highest quality book possible. The bound product is lowered in a cam controlled motion and held vertically on its spine. The delivery can hold hundreds of books.
The AmigoPlus still offers all of the benefits that made it a success such as separate hotmelt spine and side gluing units, milling, cover nipping, four-line scoring and the operator friendly menu-guided control system.
The addition of PUR allows book manufacturers to enter new markets by offering more options to the end user, regardless of whether they are traditional binders or digital printers.
Print 09 takes place September 11-16 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois. Muller Martini experts from each of the companys product divisions will be available during the show at booth #1137 to answer any questions, offer live demonstrations of the AmigoPUR and other equipment on display and provide solutions to help printers and binderies continue to thrive.
