Goss International launches new service plan option for the UK

Wednesday 15. July 2009 - New approach designed to improve flexibility, cost control and press performance; ‘Bankable' hours redeemable for a wide range of Goss International services, including emergency service

Goss International has announced the launch of the Goss Flexible Value Service Plan aimed at providing an adaptable service solution for printers and publishers operating Goss equipment throughout the UK.

“The objective is to provide our customers with a flexible, cost-effective and predictable plan so that that they can maintain peak performance and better service their own clients,” says Peter Banks, Goss International customer service manager.

The Goss Flexible Value Service Plan allows printers to purchase a ‘bank’ of service hours at discounted rates, on an annual basis. Banked hours are redeemable against any number of services, including routine maintenance and emergency services and are backed by the Goss International warranty. A proportion of service hours unclaimed in a twelve-month period may also be eligible for transfer to the subsequent year.

Banks notes that monthly payments spread the cost, giving publishers and printers predictability. He says that customers that opt for the Goss Flexible Value Service Plan can also benefit from Goss International project management expertise. “This means experienced project engineers to plan a clear schedule of service work, ensuring minimum disruption to normal operations. At the other end of the spectrum are those unanticipated emergency situations, for which our service engineers will react with urgency. Whatever the situation, the quality of workmanship is guaranteed.”

Additional Lifetime Support service programmes are available from Goss International, including Routine Maintenance and Standard Lifetime Support Services. Routine Maintenance provides planned maintenance at pre-arranged times, around the production schedule of the customer. Standard Lifetime Support services include: predictive or preventative maintenance, print or maintenance training, press room management and trouble shooting, modem link diagnostics, press recalibrations, printed copy analysis, enhancements, press audits, press refurbishments, health and safety inspections, thermographic imaging inspections and emergency 24-hour technical assistance.

Banks concludes, “The current economic climate is forcing everyone to consider expenditure very carefully. Letting maintenance slip may help cash-flow short-term, but mid- to long-term it can become a problem when production is lost, priorities have to change and the inevitable bill for repairs lands on your desk. Our New Ways approach to Lifetime Support not only helps control costs, but delivers customised packages that provide peace-of-mind and keep presses rolling.”
