Kofax Provides U.S. State Judicial System with Distributed Capture Solution
Tuesday 14. July 2009 - Millions of Legal Documents Originating at Eight District Sites and More Than 100 Courts Will be Captured Annually
Kofax plc (LSE: KFX), the leading provider of Intelligent Capture & Exchange solutions, today announced that it will provide a Midwestern state judicial system in the United States with a distributed capture solution encompassing eight district sites and more than 100 appellate and supreme courts. The value of the contract to Kofax is more than $275,000.
Collectively handling thousands of cases and millions of pages annually, the states judicial system will use Kofax software to capture case-related documents and export the resulting images and index data to a proprietary case management system. The software will enable the state to improve efficiency by reducing labor-intensive, paper-based document recording and filing tasks, resulting in lower staffing costs and increased productivity. Capturing documents remotely – at the point of origination – will also accelerate turnaround times while further decreasing operating costs by eliminating the physical transport and tracking of those materials from multiple sites.
“Large government agencies recognize that capturing sensitive legal and public documents electronically – where they originate – allows staff to locate vital records more quickly, efficiently and accurately, saving time and money as well as improving data accessibility and security,” said Alan Kerr, Executive Vice President of Field Operations at Kofax. “Simple to deploy and use, Kofax distributed capture solutions enable customers to take costs out of document-centric operations. Staff and resources can be redeployed and redistributed to other essential functions, which increases overall organizational productivity and leads to a faster ROI.”
