Demand for print enhancement growing in India

manroland India, established as a subsidiary in 2008 and operating with branch offices throughout India, proudly announces the delivery of the new ROLAND 200 sheetfed press to Sona Printers Pvt. Ltd. in New Delhi. The Indian market with its immense potential has long been treated as one of great importance at manroland. Not surprisingly, therefore, the company by now commands a top position in Indias newspaper market. Many of the big newspaper publishing companies in India have opted for the proven technology from manroland in recent years. A similarly strong upswing has taken place in the companys sheetfed sector. The five-color ROLAND 200 with InlineCoater smart is one of three presses that Sona Printers ordered last year. The five-color ROLAND 700 with the first InlineCoater smart in India and the two-color ROLAND 700 convertible to perfecting were delivered earlier on. Many features of the Value Added Printing-strategy ensure production efficiency and a spectrum of inline enhancement.
ROLAND InlineCoater smart combines coating and printing unit
To be able to offer value-adding effects in print and at the same time increase the efficiency of the printing systems, Sona Printers has equipped two of its sheetfed presses with a flexible coating module, the ROLAND InlineCoater smart. If desired, the print products can be enhanced with coating. Equipped with screen roller and doctor blade, the InlineCoater smart is particularly suitable for simple applications of protective, matt or glossy coating on paper and low-grammage board not called for every day. With an additional printing unit, it is also possible to realize special coating effects like the drip-off application with matt gloss effects. Within a short time, the last printing unit, equipped with this enhancing module, can be converted from printing to coating operation and back without having to remove the doctor blade system from the printing unit.
Sona Printers in New Delhi was founded in 1977 and today employs some 150 people. Currently, the printing and bookbinding sectors are being completely modernized. This makes the company Indias largest producer of textbooks, writing pads and exercise books, products of the kind Sona Printers specializes in.
