WYNDEHAM ’S NEW AGFA PLATES IMPROVE QUALITY AND REDUCE ENERGY USE

Wednesday 01. July 2009 - After signing a five year plate agreement at Drupa 2008, Paul Utting, CEO of Wyndeham and Stefaan Vanhooren, President, Agfa Graphics met once again following the installation of two VLF N36-50 :Avalon platesetters at the Heron site.

At Wyndeham Heron, where over 11,000 plates are used each month to produce 22 weeklies and over 100 monthly publications, the company has also been able to reduce energy consumption due to Agfa’s award-winning, long run :Energy Elite no bake plates. As well as the plate contract for the group, Agfa’s agreement includes a further two VLF :Avalon platesetters at both Wyndeham Grange and Wyndeham Impact. All six platesetters at the three sites will be supported by Agfa’s :Apogee market-leading workflow and project management solutions.

“The service and support Agfa has provided over the years has been outstanding and the new technology it has introduced for plate production will not only enhance the quality of our print but also go a long way in helping us reduce energy use and waste,” commented Paul Utting, Chief Executive, Wyndeham Group.
