Anton commits to filtration buy
Monday 29. June 2009 - The Anton Group is to buy a basic.f filtration system from technotrans for its Speedmaster XL 105-12-P after successfully trialling it on the alcohol free press.
“Before having the basic.f we were cleaning out the dampening tanks every two or three days but we now only have to do that every six or seven weeks,” says print production manager Gary Knight.
The company has had other filtration systems on its seven Speedmaster SM 102-12-Ps but the greater productivity of the latest press means there is a much higher level of dampening water required. The basic.f filtration system was the ideal solution.
“Filtration affects quality because the dampening solution is kept clean. Otherwise we would need a lot more water and that would affect the dot,” says Gary Knight. “Its an asset from an environmental point of view because we arent having to get rid of contaminated water and over time we will probably see a reduction in the amount of chemistry we need. Running alcohol-free means that the ink-water balance is critical.”
The basic.f fine filtration system can be integrated or retrofitted into the bypass of a dampening solution circulator. It is the entry level system suitable for most sheetfed presses, and is one of a family of filtration systems supplied by ancillaries specialist technotrans which is based in Colchester.
