Screen Truepress Jet650UV Inkjet Printer Brings Quality, Efficiency to Medical Equipment Manufacture

Souvenirs and interior products: The Truepress Jet650UV can be used to print original products for household interiors and souvenirs.

Monday 22. June 2009 - Each year, new and different medical devices appear on the market. The arrival of the Screen Truepress Jet650UV inkjet printing system adds new dimensions to the kind of functional printing that manufacturers increasingly employ to create components for these devices.

Medical devices are expensive instruments that have a critical first impression requirement. In the medical equipment field, precision, visual confirmation and durability are crucial. Screen, a leading manufacturer of digital printing systems, developed the new flatbed inkjet printer to answer these needs and more.

Designed especially for fabrication environments, the Truepress Jet650UV provides better economy in the manufacture of graphic panel overlays, printed circuit boards and membrane switches for electronic control pad applications, as well as superior performance from the finished products.

What the Truepress Jet650UV brings to the table is simplicity, consistency, efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The Truepress Jet650UV offers innovative solutions to difficult production problems. It enables finer features and greater opportunities to customize products. It also produces very high quality with high resolution and the added feature of marking on nonporous substrates.

The Truepress Jet650UV has a maximum output area of 25.3 x 23.3 inches and a peak image resolution of 2,400 dpi x 2,400 dpi. It prints directly onto media up to 1.96 inches thick at speeds up to 201.5 square inches per minute.

The UV-curable inkjet inks that Screen has developed for the Truepress Jet650UV adhere to virtually any rigid or flexible substrate, including vinyl, polyester, polycarbonate and special label stock, along with wood, glass and metal. Graphic panel overlays printed with Screen’s UV inks can feature various textures, window configurations, colors and graphics. The text in printed instructions and warning labels is sharp and easily readable.

The inks are formulated to ensure quick drying and a high degree of flexibility. The inks maintain their integrity during the embossing process, such as in the creation of membrane switches, and film-insert molding for the production of panel switches. In addition, they withstand heavy-duty requirements and high-temperature environments.

Screen (USA) will introduce the Truepress Jet650UV in booth #109054 at NPE: The International Plastics Showcase, June 22-26 at McCormick Place in Chicago.
