New Member appointed
Monday 08. June 2009 - The Managing Director of Burda Services GmbH, Holger Eckstein (45), has been appointed Deputy CFO of Hubert Burda Media as of 1 July 2009. In the following two-year transition period, he is going to support Paul-Bernhard Kallen, Board Member Technology, Finance, International, and familiarize himself with his new tasks. In summer 2011 at the latest, Eckstein is to take over sole responsibility for the Management Board section Finance.
By appointing Eckstein, publisher Hubert Burda and the Management Board have acted on a suggestion from Paul-Bernhard Kallen to establish a Board section Finance with no operational responsibility. “In the past few years, Holger Eckstein has successfully handled essential tasks in Finance and proved himself for further assignments. We have cooperated closely for over ten years now and I am looking forward to having his support in our day-to-day business,” commented Kallen.
Holger Eckstein, born in Düsseldorf, studied business administration in Germany and the USA and earned an MBA degree. In 1990, he joined Hoechst AGs Corporate Center in Frankfurt, where he accepted several positions.
In January 1996, Eckstein moved on to Hubert Burda Media. He started to work in Group Controlling and became the units director in the fall of the same year. In 2002, he was appointed a member of the Managing Board of Burda Services. As the central commercial services provider for the holding, group companies and external customers, Burda Services mainly works in the fields of Controlling, Finance and Accounting, Treasury and Human Resources.
Eckstein is married and has four children. He continues to manage his area of responsibility from the groups location in Offenburg.
