TRELLEBORG LAUNCHES NEW ROLLIN BLANKET SOLUTIONS AT GRAPHITEC-CONVERTEC 2009

Thursday 28. May 2009 - Trelleborg Printing Blankets will use the forthcoming French exhibition Graphitec-Convertec, 9th - 12th June, to introduce three major new Rollin blanket solutions, which will be available throughout Europe immediately after the exhibition.

Graphitec-Convertec is the first French exhibition at which Trelleborg will promote both Vulcan and Rollin products since it acquired the latter brand last year. In addition, the company will show Finito blanket solutions and a range of pressroom chemicals from Dutch manufacturer PCO.

“Rollin is a tremendous brand and under the Trelleborg flag we know it has a great future,” says Dario Porta, managing director of Trelleborg Printing Blankets. “The three new blanket solutions being launched at Graphitec-Convertec are major additions, which complete the Rollin product portfolio for the sheet-fed sector and demonstrate our commitment to the range. We expect significant interest in the new blanket solutions during the show and over the coming months we will be working closely with our established network of Rollin distributors to promote the full Rollin offering to the market.”

The new Trelleborg Rollin Imprint is a middle range blanket that provides good dot reproduction whether using conventional or UV inks. The closed cell compressible layer results in minimal sinking, improved rebound and increased stability. The 4-ply blanket is a good ‘all round’ blanket that can be used in applications from commercial sheet-fed to packaging and metal decorating.

Some ‘exceptional’ results have been obtained during trials of the new Trelleborg Rollin UV-E blanket, which has been specifically designed for UV applications within a wide range of sectors such as sheet-fed commercial, packaging, metal decorating, continuous forms and plastic printing. The EPDM blended rubber surface provides exceptional resistance to UV inks and washes, while the mirco-buffed surface ensures a high quality print, excellent ink release and good dense solids.

The third new blanket from Trelleborg is the Rollin Dirac, which is a coating blanket for use with UV or water-based varnishes and which is particularly easy to strip. The deep relief of 1 mm avoids varnish build up, while the reinforced carcass enables the 3-ply blanket to be used for repeat jobs. The surface has been formulated to reduce ink pick up from sheets and to ensure a smooth lay down of varnish.
