ProPak Asia 2009 : Innovation and Green Technology to Propel Asia’s Processing and Packaging

Wednesday 27. May 2009 - ProPak Asia 2009, which will be taking place at BITEC from 17-20 June, is set to be the biggest international processing, filling and packaging technology event for Asia, featuring a vast array of technological innovations designed to reduce cost and increase energy efficiency.

The four-day show will attract some 762 exhibitors from all over the world, presenting a rich array of the latest technology, products and solutions in this field. It is expected to draw up to 30,000 trade professionals with already 42 countries registered.

ProPak Asia 2009 is the most comprehensive event ever held in the region, assembling a variety of highly effective solutions for processing, filling and packaging. Additionally, it presents innovative industrial concepts with well-known local and international manufacturers providing solutions that address specific Asian requirements, reduce costs and maximize efficiency. All of these will give the visitors at ProPak Asia 2009, including business representatives, entrepreneurs and potential food processing investors, a new feel for the industry.

“ProPak Asia is regarded as an Asia’s leading event on processing, filling and packaging”, said David Aitken, Managing Director of Bangkok Exhibition Services Ltd, who organizes the show. “In line with energy saving and environmental friendliness, the event specifically focuses on the processing, filling and packaging needs of the food, seafood, confectionery, brewing, beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical, healthcare and cosmetics industries. Exhibits vary from food processing and packaging machinery, brewery and beverage technology equipment, canning and bottling technology, raw material and consumables for package production, and lab testing equipment.

Moreover, it reflects the country’s potential and capability for hosting international trade shows.”

762 exhibitors from 40 countries have registered for this event. ProPak Asia 2009 include a dedicated display space exhibiting major processing and packaging breakthroughs as well as international pavilions from Japan, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Germany, France and UK.

The show will be run concurrently with industry conferences, seminars and workshops by relevant national agencies and industry organisations. Featured topics, for instance, include ‘Environmentally Friendly Packaging”, “Preparing the Packaging Industry for EU Compliance”, and “Building Sustainability for the Brewery Industry”. In addition, there will be a package design contest entitled “Green Packaging” held by the Department of Industry Promotion.

ProPak Asia 2009 will be held from 17-20 June 2009, 10.00am — 6.00pm, at BITEC, Bangna.
