Wednesday 20. May 2009 - Monday, Barry Granger was named vice president and general manager of Government Marketing and Government Affairs, effective July 1. Barry will be responsible for accelerating business growth in the public sector - with particular focus on the U.S. economic stimulus package and other policy programs.
“Through our science and innovation capabilities, DuPont offers many solutions that address the nations challenges during this transformational period,” said Linda J. Fisher, DuPont vice president and Chief Sustainability Officer. “Barry will be instrumental in understanding the federal governments emerging needs and how DuPont can meet those needs with our innovations.”
DuPont has a long tradition of serving the U.S. government. Founder E.I. du Pont started the company in 1802 at the urging of then U.S. President Thomas Jefferson, who advised him of the new nations need of a domestic supply of high-quality gunpowder. Since then, DuPont has worked closely with the U.S. government to help protect the military, first responders, firefighters and law enforcement.
