Ricoh Announces Technesis Print Control System Document Accounting Solution

Tuesday 19. May 2009 - RiSVP Member Software to Reduce Total Cost of Ownership

Ricoh Americas Corporation, a leading provider of digital office equipment, today announced the release of Technesis Print Control System, a document accounting software solution that architectural and engineering firms can use to lower their wide format printing costs and reduce waste. The software reduces printing overhead by combining print assessments with rules-based messages promoting better printing efficiency. Print Control System automatically analyzes all printing and delivers summary reports by user, group and device. Technesis is also integrated with Ricoh multifunction products (MFPs) to track and control walkup copies, scans, faxes and is available to the Ricoh Channel through the Ricoh Independent Solutions Vendor Program (RiSVP).

Technesis Print Control System is an integrated software solution that meets the challenges of print management today, including cost recovery, cost-efficient printing and print accountability. Technesis Print Control System analyzes all printing (local and networked) and automatically delivers usage reports summarized by user, group and device as well as distinguishing between color and black & white pages in a single job. For cost accounting initiatives, Technesis Print Control System integrates with ODBC compliant databases, ERP systems and accounting software to retrieve account codes, projects and billing data for accurate charge back reporting.

“It’s a privilege to be aligned with Ricoh to deliver world-class total cost of ownership solutions to the marketplace,” said Paul Collart, president, Technesis. “It is our assurance to continue to provide comprehensive solutions that enable Ricoh customers to reduce consumable costs as well as maximize their hardware investments.”

One of three Ricoh Alliance programs, RiSVP, developed in cooperation with Ricoh solution partners and Ricoh’s direct and dealer channels, focuses on two key areas: expansion of channel marketing opportunities for RiSVP members and simplifying solution access for Ricoh sales channels. By providing RiSVP member products directly from Ricoh, the direct and dealer channels have more opportunities for new revenue growth combined and simplified sales operations. In turn, RiSVP members enjoy faster and greater financial return on the investments they have made in developing solutions that when combined with Ricoh’s award-winning product portfolio address customers’ key concerns.

“In today’s difficult economic times, controlling costs is a key concern for our customers,” said Ron Potesky, senior vice president, corporate communications, product/solutions and channel marketing, Ricoh Americas Corporation. “Together, our organizations will continue to offer solutions that help our customers understand, manage and reduce operational costs across their enterprise.”

Ricoh recognized the MFP would become the focal point of all business equipment and blazed a path to provide an open architecture platform to expand the products usefulness. Through our patented “Embedded Software Architecture” (ESA), developers have utilized the most extensive tool offering in the industry to create unique solutions, which have far exceeded customer expectations. Developers enjoy a wide range of individualized support options that have allowed them to reduce development costs by speeding up the development process. Customers have benefited from ESA through productivity increases and the use of existing technology to solve the ever-changing myriad of business challenges. Ricoh’s MFP’s running ESA have evolved from merely printing, scanning and faxing to providing end users with the profound realization they have truly purchased a full service business center.
