Thursday 23. April 2009 - New KBA Rapida sheetfed presses for Iran Chap

n December last year, Teheran-based Iran Chap placed a single order for four Rapida sheetfed offset presses. The publishing and print house Iran Chap was founded in 1966 by the Ettelaat Institute, the owner of what is today the oldest Iranian daily newspaper Ettelaat, and has been printing with web presses from Koenig & Bauer for some time. The existing production line-up is now to be joined also by sheetfed offset presses from KBA.

A four-colour Rapida 75 and a two-colour Rapida 106 perfector were delivered at the end of March. The media house produces not only newspapers and magazines, but also a broad diversity of books, including publications of the Ettelaat Institute, as well as a wide assortment of printed products for government and private customers, for example magazines from the spheres of culture, sport, politics and economics, science and youth affairs, to name but a few. Two four-colour Rapida 106 presses are to follow in April – both with a high level of automation: FAPC fully automatic plate changers, non-stop facilities for the feeder and delivery, washing systems for the blankets, impression cylinders and ink rollers, inking unit temperature control and much more besides. The presses are linked to the company MIS via the production management system LogoTronic professional. Quality control and documentation are handled by the measuring and control system DensiTronic professional, which also incorporates functionality for control on the basis of spectral measurements.
A policy of continuous investment has helped to establish Iran Chap are one of today’s market leaders in newspaper and magazine printing in Iran. The new Rapida presses are now to add yet another notch to the company’s quality reputation and product diversity in the field of periodicals and books, and will at the same time deliver a further boost to production efficiency.
