Polopoly has been chosen by Edda Media, one of Norways leading media houses
Thursday 16. April 2009 - ¡ Norwegian Edda Media has chosen Polopoly from Atex as their new content management system citing flexibility, reliability and scalability as their key decision drivers ¡ All current and future Edda Media newspaper web sites and some niche sites will be built on Polopoly taking advantage of Polopolys rapid site creation, centralized management and information sharing capabilities ;
Edda Media, part of Norways Mecom Group, has decided to replace its existing Web Content Management Solution with Polopoly, to manage their existing web presence which consists of more than 40 sites, over 70 million page views per month and lays the foundation for future expected growth and business opportunities.
When considering a new online platform, with particular concerns over reliability and flexibility at the core, Edda Media undertook a full evaluation of both commercial and open source solutions available in the market, and after a major evaluation selected Polopoly, primarily due to its high levels of editorial flexibility, reliability and scale.
“After an extensive review in close co-operation with editorial staff we have chosen Polopoly”, said Henning Sund, Director of Edda Interactive, “We described our editorial and technical needs thoroughly and found Polopoly to be the best match”.
One of the reasons for Edda Media choosing Polopoly is the high level of flexibility related to “front page management” provided by Polopolys Live Layout Manager. Live Layout Manager provides greater content and editorial control, an important requirement for Edda, as the company has more than 500 journalists and editors to support. The final determining factor in the decision was the need to manage the entire group of online sites in a single installation, thereby reducing cost of ownership and easing the sharing of materials across disparate websites.
Demand for new sites often emerges quickly at Edda Media, even on a weekly basis. A new site, such as a campaign site, is often very similar to some previous site, and should be up and running in one working day without technical web development knowledge. Achieving this is a critical business requirement for Edda, enabling them to stay ahead of their competition, retain digital subscribers, and increase online revenues.
Gustaf Sahlman, CEO for Atex Polopoly, stated “We are delighted that Edda Media have selected Polopoly to manage their online presence, as Edda Medias online presence grows, Polopoly has the reliability, flexibility and scalability to meet their needs”.
