Entrepreneurial printing company, Nanjing Anbo Printing Co., has become the first user worldwide of a semi-commercial Goss Magnum press with an MV400 configuration – the latest evolution in the Goss Magnum 4 press family – with versatility to print both newspaper and heatset commercial products.
President Wang HuaPeng, who founded the company in 2004, commented, “After seeing a demonstration of the newly developed MV400 configuration in Shanghai Goss Graphic Systems’ (SGGS) manufacturing facility, we were convinced that this was the press that fit our business objectives and budget most closely. The press not only has reliable performance and high productivity, but also the ability to print a wide variety of products enabling us to capture new business opportunities in the changing market.”
Nanjing Anbo prints a number of different products on contract including various regional newspaper titles, books and commercial publications. Besides the new Magnum with MV400 configuration, Nanjing Anbo also owns a WS-A book and newspaper press made by SGGS, in Shanghai.
Based on the proven technologies of the popular single-width Goss Magnum press series, the MV400 configuration has been developed to meet the trends in hybrid printing. The press can be equipped with the latest automation and control technology providing superior quality, ease of operation and lower waste levels.
In addition, the three-form three-drum inking provides excellent density control and uniform ink film thickness on a wide variety of paper stocks.
The new press configured with four eight-color Magnum 4 printing towers, two N40 folders, four reelstands and a dryer is rated at 30,000 cph for heatset printing. It has been in full production at the company’s printing facility in Nanjing, the second largest commercial center in the East China region after Shanghai, since 2008.
Johnny Yang, general manager of SGGS summarized, “As hybrid printing and production consolidations have become increasingly more common, a number of printers like Nanjing Anbo will adopt a press system that can satisfy the needs of both newspaper and commercial printing. The Magnum MV400 configuration has inherited the advantages from the Magnum press family, and with its new hybrid features, publishers and printers will have the ability to gain more efficiency and better returns on investment.”
