Kodak Continues to Help Customers Capture Digital Photo Services Business with New Tools

Thursday 19. March 2009 - Photo products provide significant growth opportunities for printers

To help print service providers with KODAK NEXPRESS Digital Production Color Presses capitalize on the exciting growth potential of digitally printed photo products, Kodak has expanded its tools and resources for customers. As part of its proven KODAK MARKETMOVER Business Development Services, Kodak is offering a new on-site custom workshop to help its customers drive new revenue with photo applications.

In addition to the photo business development workshop, Kodak also is releasing a related Owners Guide entitled “New Photographic Print Applications and Services” designed to help professional photo labs, printers and online service providers capitalize on the trend toward more customized photobooks, calendars, personalized greeting cards, and other photo press products. The workshop and accompanying Owners Guide include a series of modules that provide an overview of the photo market and applications, an analysis of current and future business opportunities, development of a marketing action plan, workflow and finishing solutions, tips for printers targeting photo applications and a printing primer for photo labs, and a workshop on creating new sales.

“Consumers capture more photos than ever today, and the desire to do something special with those images continues to grow,” said Robert Barbera, Director, Business Development Services, Kodak. “KODAK NEXPRESS Presses are ideal for creating the personalized products people want, resulting in an opportunity for our customers to position themselves as providers of choice in this area.”

For NEXPRESS Press users, a new KODAK MARKETMOVER Premier Package provides on-site consulting and training support along with the MARKETMOVER Targeted Sales Module – Photo Services. This Targeted Sales Module, first introduced last August, supports professional photo labs, online photo service retailers, and commercial printers that use NEXPRESS Presses in developing and growing new digital printing photo services.

The MARKETMOVER Targeted Sales Module – Photo Services is an online tool that provides a comprehensive program to support sales and marketing in a variety of market segments. It includes two distinct sets of marketing strategies, and supporting marketing materials such as Point of Purchase signage, direct mailers, bill stuffers and advertisements. The first program targets consumers, while the other is geared toward professional photographers.

Recently, at PMA 2009, Kodak showcased its KODAK NEXPRESS Intelligent Dimensional Coating Solution and KODAK NEXPRESS Dimensional Clear Dry Ink, which offer printers another way to expand sales opportunities with unique digital photo press products. Available as part of the KODAK NEXPRESS Fifth Imaging Unit Solutions, Dimensional Printing gives specified text and images a raised or 3D effect that can deliver higher impact photo press products. The result is a printed piece where images can have a dimensional feel that mimics the surface of the items in the image.

“Kodak enables customers to offer unique applications that distinguish them from the competition with the KODAK NEXPRESS Fifth Imaging Unit Solution and KODAK Dimensional Clear Dry Ink for a raised printing effect,” added Barbera. “Our comprehensive online and workshop resources help customers maximize their capital investment and generate additional revenue in the photo market.”

Other KODAK MARKETMOVER Targeted Sales Modules include Financial Services, Education, Manufacturing, Retail, Advertising and Marketing Agencies, and Existing Customers (a program for marketing to an existing customer base). KODAK MARKETMOVER Business Development Services deliver a wide range of innovative tools, resources, and support to enable customers to maximize their return on investment in new technologies and achieve dynamic business growth. MARKETMOVER Service professionals work directly with customers in developing marketing plans, training senior management and sales representatives on new business opportunities, and supporting marketing and sales programs.
