Pressure-sensitive labelling technology and label inspection from Krones

The Autocol technology can handle not only the usual pressure-sensitive labels, their transparent counterparts in the no-label look, but also wet-strength plastic and multilayered labels.

Tuesday 17. March 2009 - Trade fair preview for the ProPak Asia 2009

Krones AG, Neutraubling, Germany, will be using the ProPak Asia 2009 in Bangkok particularly for showcasing its globally renowned labelling systems. Exemplifying the multitude of sophisticated technologies that Krones provides for high-quality container dressing, the Q 1 stand in Hall 103 will showcase an Autocol labeller with two APS 3 stations plus a Checkmat 731 for label inspection.

The Autocol on show at the ProPak has been designed for a speed of 40,000 containers an hour. Fitted with two APS 3 PSL applicators and in autochange mode with two label applicators, it copes effortlessly with the high speeds it is required to handle.

The Autocol series is already being used successfully in numerous applications, extending from the food and beverage sector to pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, from chemicals to body and health-care. The Autocol technology can handle not only the usual pressure-sensitive labels, their transparent counterparts in the no-label look, but also wet-strength plastic and multilayered labels. There are also options for affixing folded outserts or multi-page leporellos on a pressure-sensitive label. And even with ultra-small labels, the Autocol ensures optimum labelling accuracy and high-precision label placement.

And a Checkmat 731, on show at the ProPak Asia, verifies whether a label has actually been applied to the product concerned. An intelligent sensor ensures reliable detection even with no-label-look designs. Because a top-quality product package scores primarily in terms of a perfectly positioned label.
