Print Buyers International, LLC (PBI), today announced that their 4th Annual Print Buyers Conference will take place at the Westford Regency Inn & Conference Center in Westford, MA, from November 3rd – 5th, 2009.

The Conference was held at the Westford venue for the first two years. PBI is returning to this private hotel for the 4th Conference to offer attendees and sponsors an intimate, affordable setting suitable for learning, networking, and strategizing. Just 30 miles west of Boston, the Westford Regency is a professional conference location where parking is plentiful – and free. PBI’s conference will be the only corporate function taking place at the Westford at that time.

Relevance through Reinvention
The theme of this year’s show is “Relevance through Reinvention.” “We’re not going to sugarcoat the truth,” said Conference producer and PBI Founder Margie Dana, an industry-recognized expert, speaker, and writer in the field of print buying. “The combination of the recession, a move away from print as the preferred marketing medium, and the rapid adoption of newer digital marketing media has created a perfect storm for buyers and printers alike. We are committed to helping print buying professionals develop their careers as marketing specialists.

“When I thought about a theme for the 2009 Conference, it was an easy choice. The printing and print buying industries are changing daily, and Print Buyers International is ready to take print buyers safely into the future by focusing on how to stay relevant in this new world of communications – print and otherwise.

“This year, for print buyers and printers alike, it is not about survival. It is about reinvention. Print must learn to play well with others. We need to make room at the table for newer digital media.”

Cutting-Edge Print Technologies Plus Digital Media
Sessions at the Conference will offer print buying professionals the education they need to stay at the top of their profession. The print-related sessions will include the latest developments in digital printing as well as economic forecasts as they relate to printing. The ongoing importance of sustainability in the graphic arts will be addressed. Presentations by gold-standard print buyers will offer insights from individuals in different industries. These “lessons from the trenches” will inspire and inform the attendees, who are expected to come from all over the country, as they have for the past three years.

The explosion of social media into the corporate marketing arena will not be ignored at this Conference. Sessions will dig into social media to help print buyers and printers decide where such media fit into their firms’ marketing strategies.

Boot Camps to Kick Off Conference
On Tuesday, November 3rd, two separate Boot Camps will be offered. A brand new, full-day Advanced Boot Camp will run from 9 to 5. This program is ideal for print buyers and graphic designers who have more than five years in the field. That same day, a Boot Camp for Print Reps will run from 1 to 4 pm.

Conference Program and Sponsor Displays

The Conference sessions will run on Wednesday and Thursday, November 4 – 5. The program and speakers will be announced soon.

PBI has redesigned the session/exhibit space for 2009 to bring sponsors closer to the general sessions. Space for just 30 sponsors will be available in the main ballroom, where keynote presentations and roundtable discussions will take place. PBI will offer 6′ tables for sponsors to reserve, instead of 8′ x 10′ booths.

Service providers who want to be recognized as companies that are moving forward in this industry are invited to participate.
