Five Epson products have been honored with Professional Photographer magazine’s 2009 Hot One Awards, which recognize the photography industry’s best and most innovative products for professional applications.

“Every year, we talk about the Hot One Awards getting bigger and better,” said Jeff Kent, Hot One Editor, Professional Photographer magazine. “That trend continued this year, but in a more pronounced fashion. The Awards took a huge step up in size, logging more than 350 entries by 180 companies. The 56 categories were more competitive than we’ve ever seen before. Winning an award in this year’s competition was no small feat. The 2009 Hot One winners truly represent the best and brightest in today’s professional photography market.”

The multiple award-winning line-up of ink jet printers includes the Artisan 800, Epson’s premium all-in-one offering print, scan, copy, photo, Wi-Fi, and more, the Epson Stylus Photo R2880, the choice for professional and fine art photographers when producing exhibition-quality prints, the Epson Stylus Pro 7900 and Epson Stylus Pro 9900, the 24-inch and 44-inch representations of the latest achievements in ink jet technology for commercial, flexographic and package proofing, as well as professional photographic and fine art printing,, and the Epson P-7000 Multimedia Photo Viewer, the essential portable storage device for on-the-go photographers.

A panel of 18 judges, all independent working professional photographers, participated in the 2009 voting process. This year, special attention was placed on value for the price, and Epson came out ahead in consumer, enthusiast and professional ink jet printing, as well as with the Epson P-7000 Multimedia Photo Viewer. All winners can be seen in the March 2009 issue of Professional Photographer magazine.
