Tieto introduces a range of ready-made software components for network element providers

Thursday 19. February 2009 - Tieto is launching two new Signaling gateways along with Telecom-grade Application Enablers.

With these components Tieto continues its efforts to help NEP (Network Element Providers) customers build and introduce new and more efficient services with shorter time to market, thus enabling them to respond more quickly to market requirements. At the same time, by extending its range of ready-made software components for NEPs, Tieto is taking R&D one step further.

The solutions are built on Tieto’s telecom-grade Gateway Platform and Signaling solutions and respond to the need for convergence and new service solutions in the telecom networks of today.
The Tieto SIP-ISUP Gateway is a cost-effective and scalable solution providing interconnectivity between legacy SS7-based networks and state-of-the-art VoIP networks.

The Tieto IN Access gateway provides real-time access to IN-based Number Portability service data and allows for the re-use of existing IN services in Next Generation Networks based on the IP infrastructure.

Tieto is also introducing a range of Application Enablers – a fast way for system integrators & Network Element Providers to introduce exciting new features and functions into a telecom network.

Tieto Application Enablers are a set of off-the-shelf software components, built on the Tieto Signalling solutions and used to minimize cost and shorten the time to market for new application development. The components, which provide easy-to-use high-level abstraction of certain network operations, can be used in areas like Automatic device detection, SIM card solutions, Security solutions, Equipment identity registration and more.

With signalling solutions application and network equipment providers are able to add signalling functionality to telecom applications running on open platforms.
