HP Presents HP Indigo W7200 Digital Press at Hunkeler innovationdays

HP Indigo W7200 Digital Press

Tuesday 17. February 2009 - HP announced today that it is demonstrating the new HP Indigo W7200 Digital Press for publications, direct mail and transpromotional applications with a Hunkeler POPP6 series Rewinding Module RW6 at Hunkeler innovationdays, 16 - 19 February.

The HP Indigo W7200 Digital Press is a twin-engine web press capable of printing up to seven colours. Using established HP Indigo technology and HP ElectroInk, the press prints at speeds of 14,400 colour pages per hour full colour, and 57,600ppm mono, effectively doubling the speed of earlier models. With an image size of 317mm x 980mm and the ability to handle substrate widths from 40g/m2 to 350g/m2, the W7200 enables the printing of a wide range of formats and applications. High capacity ink canisters reduce the need for operator intervention. With this press, reliable, versatile and high productivity variable data printing is possible with low costs per page regardless of ink coverage.

HP is also exhibiting its HP Exstream enterprise document automation solution at Hunkeler. HP Exstream is a single software solution that allows you to create relevant customer communications for any application including correspondence, direct marketing, and transpromo, for all types of delivery through print/mail and online channels.

Handling the data supplied by enterprises is carried out by HP SmartStream servers. With a range of workflow solutions designed for specific applications, HP SmartStream servers are able to handle large amounts of variable data, carry out imposition, colour management, RIPping and drive multiple HP Indigo presses. Details of the HP SmartStream server portfolio will also be available.

Information on other HP solutions will be available, including the HP Indigo press w3250, the HP Inkjet Web Press from HP High-speed Production Solutions (IHPS) as well as thermal inkjet coding, marking, addressing and imprinting solutions from HP Specialty Printing Systems (SPS).

“Participation in Hunkeler innovationdays provides a showcase for HP’s end-to-end solutions in the digital web-fed printing market and demonstrates our commitment to working closely with industry-leading partners like Hunkeler,” said Paul Randall, marketing manager, Indigo Digital Press, EMEA, HP.

Last Autumn, HP and Standard Finishing Systems, a leading supplier of paper handling and post-press finishing solutions, announced a broad partnership agreement for Standard Hunkeler paper handling solutions and service support for HP customers. Through this agreement, Standard Finishing Systems will provide sales of Hunkeler devices to HP in North America, as well as post-sales support in the field.
