The perfume and cosmetics packaging innovations singled out at PCD 2009 Awards Paris

This fifth edition of PCD, which focussed on « Sustainable development » and « Environment – Packaging Compatibility », was held on the 3rd and 4th February 2009 at the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie, in Paris. During these two days, nearly 1,200 Packaging (Innovation, R & D, Purchasing) and Marketing Managers from leading world perfumes and cosmetics brands had an opportunity to meet the 60 exhibitors, representing their main suppliers of packaging, technologies and services, in a friendly setting on a human scale.

Friday 13. February 2009 - This fifth edition of PCD, which focussed on « Sustainable development » and « Environment - Packaging Compatibility », was held on the 3rd and 4th February 2009 at the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie, in Paris. During these two days, nearly 1,200 Packaging (Innovation, R & D, Purchasing) and Marketing Managers from leading world perfumes and cosmetics brands had an opportunity to meet the 60 exhibitors, representing their main suppliers of packaging, technologies and services, in a friendly setting on a human scale.

The 38 top calibre lectures given in parallel with the exhibition enabled them to take stock of the « environmental » dimension and challenges of cosmetics packaging.

To underscore the value of technological innovation, which is often invisible to the consumer’s eye, the main perfumes and cosmetics packaging innovations received a PCD Award on Wednesday, 4th February, in Paris.
The Jury gave a special distinction, in the category « Environmentally compatible cosmetics packaging » to the « Culture Bio » range by Yves Rocher, represented by Pétronille de Parseval, Culture Bio Marketing Product Manager,Yves Rocher.

The PCD Award, « Care » Category, went to « Blanc Expert GN-White » Lancôme, represented by Thierry Ramboz, Care Products Packaging Manager, D.P.L.
The PCD Make-Up Award, Category« Eye Make-Up », went to « Phenomen’Eyes» Mascara by Givenchy, represented by Eric Cabriot, Packaging Development Group Manager, Léa Dassonville, Group Manager & Ivana Simic, Press Attaché.
The PCD Make-Up Award, Category « Eye Make-Up», went to « Exceptionnel » Mascara, Chanel, represented by Noël Charrier, Make-Up Product Development Manager.

The PCD Award, Category « Lip Make-Up », went to « Sweet Kiss » lipstick by Bourjois, represented by Léonard Ferro, Packaging Engineer ,& Olivier Johnson, Designer, Bourjois

The PCD Award, Category « Complexion Make-Up» went to «Shimmer Brick Compact» make-up, Bobbi Brown, represented by Francis Corbellini, New Ventures Packaging Director, The Estée Lauder Companies Inc.

The Jury awarded a Special Distinction, Category « Complexion Make-Up », to the powder « Soleil d’Afrique, Poudre Collector » by Yves Saint-Laurent, represented by Eric Caulier, Packaging Development Group Manager.

The PCD Award, Category « Women’s Perfume », went to « Magnifique » by Lancôme, represented by François Martin, Perfumes Packaging.

The Jury awarded a Special Distinction, Category « Women’s Perfume » to « Féerie » by Van Cleef & Arpels, Inter Parfums, represented by Jérémy Toledano, Packaging Engineer, Van Cleef & Arpels.

The PCD Award « Men’s Perfume » went to « Roadster » by Cartier, represented by Fabien Lemonnier, Perfumes Packaging Development Engineer, Priscilla Chevalier-Foucault, Perfumes Marketing Product Manager and Damienne Lulic, Accessories Designer.

The Jury awarded a Special Distinction, Category « Men’s Perfume » to « Allure Homme, Edition Blanche » by Chanel, represented by Cédric Mallochet, Product Development Fragrance Area Manager.

These prizes are awarded by an independent jury made up of Beauty Journalists, Packaging Experts and representatives of supervisory bodies in the area of

The participants unanimously underscored the quality, interest and friendliness of the exchanges. The sixth edition of PCD (Perfumes, Cosmetics & Design) is being prepared for the 26 & 27 January 2010, in Paris.
