Heiler Software continues its profitable growth in the 1st quarter 2008/09
Friday 13. February 2009 - Heiler Software AG, one of the leading providers of electronic product information solutions and catalogue management systems increased consolidated sales revenues in the first quarter of fiscal year 2008/09 (10/01/2008 - 12/31/2008) from 2.90 million Euro to 3.25 million Euro (+12%) and thus - in terms of sales revenues - realized the strongest first quarter of its corporate history.
Sales growth was mainly driven by the software license business which increased from 0.76 million Euro to 1.05 million Euro by 38% when compared to the corresponding period of the prior year. Hosting and so-called Application Service Providing (ASP)-revenues improved from 0.26 million Euro to 0.30 million Euro (+15%) and maintenance revenues improved from 0.44 million Euro to 0.54 million Euro (+23%). Contrary, consulting revenues decreased from 1.38 million Euro to 1.31 million Euro (-5%) when compared to the prior year.
Sales growth led to an increase in gross profits from 1.72 million Euro to 1.85 million Euro when compared to the prior year. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) improved from -0.09 million Euro to 0.07 million Euro when compared to the prior year. Earnings before taxes increased from 0.07 million Euro to 0.17 million Euro and net income increased from 0.07 million Euro to 0.18 million Euro. Accordingly, earnings per share increased from 0.01 Euro to 0.02 Euro.
Due to the unexpected significant worsening of the economic environment, some leading business research institutes and inter-trade organizations during the first quarter of fiscal year 2008/09 drastically revised their economic forecasts for 2009 and now expect the worst recession for USA, Europe and Germany since the end of the Second World War. Based on the dramatically worsening worldwide economic outlook and related increasing insecurity in planning, Management adjusts its prognosis for the current fiscal year 2008/09 and now expects – instead of a low double-digit growth rate and an increase in EBIT-margin – an one-digit sales growth above the software market and a positive result.
